NOTICE OF YOUR FINANCIAL PRIVACY RIGHTS

We, our and us, when used in this notice, mean The Cowboy Bank of Texas.

This is our privacy notice for our customers. When we use the words “you” and “your” we mean the following types of customers:

  • Our consumer customers who have a continuing relationship by purchasing or holding financial products or services such as a(n):
    • Deposit Account
    • Loan Account
    • Safe Deposit Box
    • Mortgage Brokerage Service

We will tell you the sources of the information we collect about you. We will tell you what measures we take to secure that information.

We first define some terms:

  1. Nonpublic personal information means information about you that we collect in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. Nonpublic personal information does not include information that is available from public sources, such as telephone directories or government records. Hereafter, we will use the term “information” to mean nonpublic personal information as defined in this section.
  2. An affiliate is a company we own or control, a company that owns or controls us, or a company that is owned or controlled by the same company that owns or controls us. Ownership does not mean complete ownership, but means owning enough to have control.
  3. A nonaffiliated third party is a person we do not employ or a company that is not an affiliate of ours. This is also known as nonaffiliated third party, or simply, an “other party.”

We do NOT disclose any information about you to anyone, except as permitted by law. Examples of this might include disclosures necessary to service your account or prevent unauthorized transactions.

THE CONFIDENTIALITY, SECURITY, AND INTEGRITY OF YOUR INFORMATION

We restrict access to information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect this information.

We do not disclose information about former customers, except as permitted by law.

This institution is chartered, licensed, or registered under the laws of the State of Texas and by state law is subject to the regulatory oversight by the Texas Department of Banking. Any consumer wishing to file a complaint against this institution should contact the Texas Department of Banking through one of the means indicated below:

FAIR LENDING POLICY

As a commercial bank, the primary function of this institution is to make loans that are mutually beneficial to the bank, its stockholders and the banks customers.  As a part of this function. it is the general purpose of the management of this bank to grant all the sound short term local loans which resources permit and opportunity affords. 

This bank does not and will not practice "red-lining".  That is loans will not be denied based on location in a particular area within our trade area.  Rather each loan will be evaluated on sound credit factors. 

It is the policy of this bank to rigorously adhere to both the letter and spirit of the laws pertaining to the extension of credit and regulation of banking.  Examples of consumer laws include Truth in Lending, Fair Credit Reporting and Equal Credit Opportunity.

The bank shall not discriminate against credit applicants on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, physical condition, handicap, familial status, developmental disability or age (provided the applicant has the capacity to contract), or because all or part of the applicant's income derives from any public assistance program, or because the applicant has in good faith exercised any right under the Consumer Credit Protection Act.

The bank will notify applicants of action taken on their applications; report credit history in the names of both spouses on an account; retain records of credit applications; and collect information about the applicant's race and other personal characteristics in applications for certain dwelling loans.
